Custom Awnings
for Bellevue, WA & All of Western Washington
Options and Considerations
Custom awnings are a great way to enhance your outdoor living space and protect against the elements.
When choosing a custom awning, several factors impact cost and functionality, such as size, material, and operating system.
Fixed vs. Retractable
Fixed awnings offer permanent shade and are ideal for windows or entryways, while retractable awnings provide flexibility, allowing you to extend or retract them as needed.
Manual vs. Motorized
Manual awnings use a hand crank and are less expensive, typically ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 installed. Motorized options, controlled by a remote, wall switch, or app, are more convenient but more expensive, usually costing $3,000 to $7,000+ installed. Smart awnings with wind sensors for automatic retraction are also available.
Material
Fabric (Acrylic/Vinyl): Popular for their wide array of colors and patterns, fade resistance, and softer look, acrylic is durable and UV resistant, while vinyl is low-maintenance and can withstand harsh weather.
Metal (Aluminum): Metal is sturdier and offers better, more durable protection against rain and wind, making metal awnings a good option for those in areas with extreme climates.
Cassette Style
This refers to the housing that protects the retracted awning. A full cassette encloses the fabric and arms completely for maximum weather protection, while semi-cassette and open styles offer less protection at a potentially lower cost.
